About the Shelton Family Foundation

The Shelton Family Foundation was established in 1996 by A.B. “Stormy” Shelton with the intent to benefit the citizens of Abilene and the Big Country area. Mr. and Mrs. Shelton’s legacy of service to others and their generous spirit lives on through the Shelton Family Foundation today. The board is pleased to support local needs and they look forward to reviewing grant proposals.

Nonprofit Eligibility

Eligible organizations must hold a current tax-exemption status under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code. This includes traditional nonprofit agencies with current 501(c)(3) status, recognized government entities requesting funds for public charitable purposes, K-12 schools, community/junior colleges, colleges and universities, or faith-based organizations with programs or projects that benefit the community at large.

Requests are limited to IRS tax-exempt organizations that serve Abilene and the Big Country area with projects or programs that support these areas of focus:

  • Basic Human Services and Essential Needs

  • Education

  • Health

  • Community Development

Application Process

Online Access

Grant applications are submitted using an online grants management system called, “Foundant GLM.” A login link to Foundant GLM can be found here or by clicking the "Apply Now" button below.

Timeline

The Shelton Family Foundation board meets to review grant proposals in February and August each year but will accept grant proposals throughout the year.
